Anna
Rosa Glidden of Houston, Texas, is a stellar American Hemerocallis
Society member who just happens to be
from Region 6. A hybridizer, Garden Judge, and Exhibition Judge, Anna does it
all. She has been a member of American Hemerocallis
Society since 1982. First as a member of Houston Area
Daylily Society and later a member of the Houston Hemerocallis Society. She has
twice served as the club president for each club. She was most instrumental in
forming the Cypress Creek Daylily Club in 1995 and is now also a member of the
Brazosport Daylily Society.
Anna Rosa worked tirelessly for the 1988 Houston American Hemerocallis Society Convention, and her garden was on tour. She was the main instigator for convincing five clubs in the. Houston area to host the 2008 American Hemerocallis Society Convention. She rarely misses a Region 6 Meeting or American Hemerocallis Society Convention.
Region 6 members can count on Anna Rosa to ensure the plant auction is lively and beneficial to the coffers. Not only does she contribute plants from. her nearly 200 registrations, she is known for paying top dollar for a prize plant at auction or forcing others to do so.
One of the four nominations stated, "For her tireless work with daylilies, local clubs, Region 6 and the American Hemerocallis Society, it is time that we recognize Anna Rosa."
