Larry Paul Pike was born October 21, 1954, in Roswell, New Mexico, the son of Dean Harold Pike and Peggy Jo (Mullis) Pike.

Larry and Debbie were married June 28, 2003, in Brazoria County, Texas.

In 2011, Larry and Debbie were introduced to daylilies through Brazoria County Master Gardener Training. In July of 2011, Mike Mayfield taught a session on daylilies and invited them to join the Lone Star Daylily Society.

In 2014, Larry and Debbie were new to daylilies and to Region 6, having been involved in daylilies for about three years. They took on huge responsibilities for Region 6 by accepting the Awards and Honors Co-Chair and Newsletter Editor positions.

Larry served as 2016-17 Lone Star Daylily Society President.

In 2017, Larry won the AHS Best Article About Gardening Technology Award for his "Super/Photo App" article in the Region 6 newsletter, Daylilies of the Southwest, Vol. 16, No. 1, Spring 2016.

Larry served as Region 6 Newsletter Editor 2014-18.
