Lenore Mathews, Shreveport, Louisiana, was appointed 1951-52 Regional Supervisor for Region 6.
The Hemerocallis Society Newsletter of September 1953 lists Mrs. W. R. Mathews as First Vice-President and head of the Regional Supervisors.
Lenore's husband, Dr. W. R. Mathews, was born in Alabama in November 4, 1896. He attended the University of Alabama and the University of Arkansas School of Medicine, where he specialized in pathology. In 1929, he was hired as the Chief pathologist at the Shreveport Charity Hospital, a position he held for over forty years.
