David Freshour was born in Ohio, on April 1, 1952, the son of Clyde Junior Freshour and Julianne M. Kirchner.

In 1974, David graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana.

He worked for Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan, and Freeport, Texas, for 41 years.

David and his wife Nancy moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, in late July 2000.

David joined AHS in 2001 and is a member of the Brazosport Daylily Society, where he served as 2015-18 club President.

He and Nancy served as 2018 Region 6 Meeting Co-Chairs. Their Lake Jackson garden was on the 2018 Region 6 Meeting tour.

David served as AHS Region 6 Director as 2018-19 Membership Chair and 2020-22 Exhibitions Chair.

David served as Region 6 President in 2024-25.
