Nix O'Brien Bodden
October 23, 1940 - July 13, 2018

Nix O'Brien Bodden was born October 23, 1940, in Bexar County, Texas, the son of Charles Louis Bodden and Florence Emma (Bluntzer) Bodden. He graduated from Cuero High School and the University of Texas at Austin. He earned a MBA degree from North Western University as a Chemical Engineer, with honors.

Nix became a member of the Austin Daylily Society in 1998, and was very active in all of the club activities. He served as club Treasurer, 2008-10.

The Bodden garden was on tour for the 2001 Region 6 Meeting in held in Austin, Texas. The garden was very scenic, overlooking Lake Austin. The garden was started in 1995 after Nix's first wife Carleen returned from visiting friends in Louisiana. They had lived in Lake Charles, LA, for 18 years before moving to Austin. Carleen passed away in January, 1998.

Nix married Anna Beth Zimpelman on April 13, 2002, in Austin, Texas. He passed away at his home in Wimberley, Texas, on July 13, 2018, with Beth at his side.

Nix was one of the most honest, trustworthy, and kindest of men.
