Malcolm Douglass Avaritt was born in Dallas,
Texas, October 18, 1966, the son of Frank Ribler Avaritt and Winnie Janell
(Montgomery) Avaritt.
Malcolm grew up in Garland, Texas. In 1990, he graduated from Texas Tech, Lubbock, Texas, with a degree in Economics. Malcolm and Michelle Lynn Britten met while at Texas Tech, and they married September 14, 1991. Malcolm & Michelle live in Midlothian, Texas, with their two children, son Taylor and daughter Payton. They have 1 1/2 acres there for daylilies.
Malcolm has worked for many years as a retail manager for the Honey-Baked Ham Company.
Malcolm became a member of Daylily of Growers of Dallas in 1997. He has served the club in numerous capacities.
Malcolm has served Region 6 as 2004-16 W. E. Monroe Endowment Fund Liaison, 2005 Region 6 Meeting Co-Chair, 2006-16 Region 6 Treasurer, and 2007-16 Region 6 Auction Chair.
In 2016, Malcolm was honored as the recipient of the Region 6 Service Award.
